My neighbor Angie invited us to go to the new splash park with them! Andrew had fun playing with Nick and JJ, and Ashley was in her own little world crawling around on the rocks and up and down the stream! Thanks Angie, it was fun!

August Fun!
We have had a lot of fun this summer! It was so nice to be gone to Alaska for part of it. It is so hard to come back to the heat here. I CANNOT stand being hot! The kids just want to play outside but they will melt! Here is a look at a few things we did in August to beat the heat!

Andrew did a neighborhood soccer camp for a few days in the mornings. That picture of him kicking the ball...probably the only time he even attempted to kick the ball. He loved running around, doing drills and stretches...but when it came to the game on the last day, he liked to just sit there and stand next to the ref! Thanks Natalie, Mady and Kenzie, the kids loved it and you should do it again next year!

Ashley enjoying her post-game otter pop. She has the hardest time eating those things and gets so frustrated.
We have been to the splash park a few times this month too. Ashley and Andrew LOVE it! Ashley likes to sit on the spouts and Andrew chases other kids around!

Derick met us there for lunch one day. He brought dill pickle Pringles. They were gooood!

One fun family night!
For family night we wanted to do something fun and active with the kids. It has just been TOO hot to go on a bike ride, so we headed out to Kangaroo Zoo! The kids love this place!

Andrew is fearless and Ashley loves the little slides!

As you can see Derick was getting in on the fun too....or just had to put Ashley at the top of every slide!

I don't know what you think, but I think she is the cutest little thing ever!

Andrew was just go, go, go! He loves this baseball thing too where the air blows the ball up and you hit it.

Here we go down the 3 story slide! Like I said, Andrew is fearless! Look at him going down head first!

Here are some action shots of the kids!

Happy Birthday Derick!
Every year I think I stretch out Derick's birthday celebration a little longer and longer. I think I do this so that he will do it for me on my birthday! We started out by heading up to Park City with the kids and his parents and brother to stay the night on Friday. We made fajitas (one of his favorites), swam, wore fancy bathrobes back from the pool (I need to get those pics from his parents, they are pretty funny), had brownie sundaes, played Phase 10, stayed up late, woke up early, shopped, rode the Alpine Slide, had snow cones and ate candy. How is that for a fun-filled 24 hours!

Someone was anxious to swim AND thought it was his birthday. That is why there are only 4 candles. It was easier than trying to convince him dad wasn't turning 4...

Loading up and heading up the mountain! ("Please Andrew don't lean too far forward, please Andrew just sit still..."-this is what I was saying in my head the whole time they were riding the chairlift)

Here comes Grandma! It was her first time! Andrew rode with Grandpa.

Ashley was pretty bored and HOT waiting for them to come down. She wasn't quite old enough to ride it.
Later Saturday night we went on a date to Tucano's to use Derick's free dinner. We stuffed ourselves full of those little cheese roll things and lots and lots of meat! It was so yummy, every single bite!
On Sunday evening we had some family and some neighbors come to the park to eat cake and ice cream with us! Derick loves chocolate, so we had to get the chocolate cake from Costco. That thing is so good. Then I made white cupcakes for those that don't like chocolate! It was good fun, good company and a great weekend!

The kids enjoying some cupcakes. Looks like Ashley is pretty into Hayden!

Happy Birthday, Dad!

The next night we had leftover cake after dinner. I thought these were pretty cute of Ashley enjoying her cake!

Taylor Swift!
This one is old too, but just had to get it blogged about!
My great neighbor Steph LOVES to go to concerts and has a daughter Chelsea. Chelsea is one of my young women. Chelsea told me they had an extra ticket to the Taylor Swift concert. I had to take them up on it! So, thanks Macula's for letting me tag along with you! Steph drove us up to SLC while we rocked out to Taylor songs! We had a yummy dinner at Jimmy Johns (good sandwiches) and then headed over to the concert!

Steph is always prepared....we were warm, she whips out a FAN from her purse!

Chelsea, Steph and I. Casey was also there with one of her friends.

I LOVED her sparkly guitar! Too bad I can't convince Derick to get one like that! Sorry the pictures aren't great, but the last one she is standing under a waterfall! Ya, it was pretty cool!

June, June, June...counting down the days to go to Alaska!
I know this was from before our trip this summer, but I am just getting around to posting these cute pictures!
I gave Ashley her first french braid! You can't really tell that is what it is, probably because I only had like 5 strands of hair to do it, but it was cute!
I love that Andrew still has such an imagination when he plays with his toys! It is hard to get mad at him or tell him to clean them up when he is playing so well by himself and not bugging Ashley!

And this is the story of my life....Ashley is happy, Andrew sees that and takes her toy...

May!
It is so silly that Ashley has to rest her foot on the counter when she eats in her highchair! She loves crawling in the dryer too.
Andrew loves playing with his cousin Lynsie!
My cute, silly kids. Andrew has a lot of fun wearing his "gobbles." The other picture was when I went to Wal Mart while Andrew was at school for a water day (thus the reason he has no shirt or pants on!). I think I bought too much stuff not thinking that I would have him to fit in the car too! The trunk was full of flowers to plant and the front seat full of storage containers. Oh well, we squished the kids!
Ashley and Andrew LOVE riding the horses at Thanksgiving Point!
